Circle of care story: Meet Charlie!

We are very excited today to introduce you to Charlie, who was one of the original orphans who came into our care in 2005 and has since graduated from university in Uganda and is currently working with the His Voice Global Uganda team as our Ministry Office Manager. This young man is so humble and transparent and we cannot wait for you to hear what he has to say in this month's video!

Education is a very important piece of our circle of care. The His Voice Global Thrive program provides financial and relational support for His Voice Students as they pursue their education. The program helps support primary and secondary school students in Kenya and trade school and university students in South Sudan and Uganda. Many of the older students have been in our care since 2005 when we first met them as small children who were orphaned by the brutal civil war in South Sudan.

After you watch the video and hear Charlie’s story, you can click here to meet some of our current students and learn about our Student Sponsorship program. Enjoy!

Special Kenya Matching Gift!

In Maai Mahiu, Kenya, His Voice Global and our partner Rift Valley Hope church have been providing educational opportunity and assistance to vulnerable young students for over a decade.

We are excited to announce that from now until May 31st , you can DOUBLE your impact in Kenya because a generous friend has offered to match any donation given to our Kenya programs up to $10,000. That means your impact will be doubled as we provide for our younger students, minister to vulnerable women, and provide crucial discipleship training to Kenyan church leaders.

It’s the Season for Teams!

Karen Watts, from Stonegate Bible Fellowship in Midland, TX, has partnered with HVG since the beginning and was among the first to travel to South Sudan with HVG in the early days. Recently she has been a part of numerous teams to visit and work along-side our Ugandan staff who consider her family. Read what she shares about a few things she experienced on her latest visit to Uganda in March, with her granddaughter, Moriah Watts, by her side.

From Karen (pictured above far right):

Sharing another mission with my 20-year-old granddaughter who is African American, (adopted from Liberia) is one of the greatest joys of my life. Watching her interact and minister alongside others is a testament to the great grace of Jesus in her life.

Riding up front with Asiki, our driver for the week, who came to the orphanage in South Sudan when he was 13 was great!. It’s quite possible that I met him as a young boy when I went there. As we drove through Arua, we had great conversations about many things. I discovered that he is quite knowledgeable about the region’s history and present government, both local and beyond.

Secondly, I loved reconnecting with Lillian, who has become a dear friend over the years and is now one of the trauma counselors working with the Shine friends. She is being greatly used of God to bring healing to the wounded souls the Lord entrusts to her.

Thirdly, I had the unexpected joy of seeing again two of our Shine friends who are amputees but are functioning well due to His Voice being able to provide crutches and wheelchairs when needed! I met them last year just as this process began.

Last, but not least, the Lord so graciously gave us time with the missionaries there. Personal family time. I think they were encouraged. I know we were.

As a 76-year-old repeat visitor since 2004 I can say that God has done great things! God is doing great things!

Thank you for your support of His Voice Global! It is a joy to serve those God has given to us with you!
