Arise Discipleship & Retreat Center

Because of the war in South Sudan, Uganda has also become home to well over one million South Sudanese refugees in several large refugee camps near Arua.

In 2016 it became possible to purchase land in Arua as fulfillment of our prayer for a permanent place of ministry for missionaries, our orphans, and other believers in Uganda.

Now, through God’s grace, we are beginning to build the facility that will help house our missionary staff as well as our students in Uganda when they are on break.

But the Arise Center will provide much more than housing for our missionaries and students. The city of Arua is ideally positioned to provide access to refugees in need of assistance, access to Ugandan universities and trade schools, and access to the rest of east Africa via air travel.

His Voice Global currently has two missionary families working full-time in Arua, Uganda. Mike & Megan Elkins and Jordan & Brittani Ward are responsible for being God’s voice to the orphan students in our care, and for managing our outreach and discipleship efforts to those seeking renewed relationships with Jesus and with the community.

The Arise Center will serve as the launch point for our discipleship training efforts in and around Arua, while also providing a place for East African missionaries from a number of Christian agencies or churches to come for rest and renewal as they serve the Kingdom.

In addition, theological training will be provided to help pastors and teachers as they make disciples who make disciples as they fulfill the great commission in their own communities the way we westerners cannot.

Our 2019 goal is to raise $200,000 to construct the first buildings on the Arise campus.
